We made it to South Dakota yesterday, but not without its challengesβ¦ I drove through DesMoines, Iowa, and it was SCARY- too much traffic and lane changing!π When we stopped for the first time, our fridge had opened during the drive, and we had food everywhereβ¦. That was a fun cleanupβ¦π€¦ββοΈ
Then, we had 2 leaks. Our kitchen sink started leaking. Jim tightened everything and fixed it, only to have the bathroom sink start leaking too. Also, our battery cover and electrical outlet cover both blew off somehow during the drive. We are going to stop at Camping World in Sioux Falls to fix these.
We stayed at the KOA in North Sioux Falls, South Dakota because we were tired of driving, and it was right off the exit. It was $90 after tax with our KOA discount- so it was more than we would have liked to pay. It was a very nice site though- full hook-up, with a patio, a grill to use, and a table facing the pool. The bonfire pit was an upgraded one too.

This was a very nice campground with curbside check-in, free WiFi that actually worked, and firewood delivery right to your site. They had mini golf, a playground, and other outdoor games. It would be worth the price for a family staying for a couple of days, but honestly very overpriced for us just to spend the night.
We ate well again on day 2. We had Subway- a ham sub on wheat without cheese for lunch. We tried to find a grocery store near the KOA for dinner, but the closest one was 20 minutes away, so we ended up getting Subway AGAIN. Not ideal, but the healthiest option we could find.
We are heading towards the Badlands now after we stop at Camping World. Letβs hope nothing else blows offβ¦π
Side note- Gas is only $2.88 in South Dakota!
