Day 9: Cody, Wyoming Town & Rodeo

We had an amazing day in Cody, Wyoming. The town of Cody has such a cool western vibe. We walked around the town, and then went to the rodeo in the evening. The town is famous for Buffalo Bill. He opened a hotel and named it after his daughter, Irma. It is still a hotel today. The rooms are $225-$255 a night. They also have a restaurant there.

We had never been to a rodeo before, so we were looking forward to seeing it, but also didn’t quite know what to expect. The rodeo was $24 per adult to sit in the bleachers or $35 per adult to sit in chairs. The seats were general admission, and doors opened at 7 pm. The rodeo starts at 8 pm every day in Cody. You can buy tickets at the gate or in downtown Cody at the rodeo office. The show runs about 2 hours. We bought cowboy hats at a thrift store while in Cody to wear to the rodeo.

The rodeo was SO much fun! It exceeded all of our expectations. To make it even better, the rodeo started with a prayer and testimony for Jesus. It was heartwarming! They followed it with a moving tribute to the USA. The rodeo was entertaining, exciting, and fun highlighted by the breathtaking scenery in the background. I got to sit on a bull named Norman that I loved for just $10. We highly recommend the Cody Rodeo!

Even with all this fun, I have to say that we are already missing home…😫
