On day 12 of our roadtrip, we decided to try some sunset watching and star gazing in Yellowstone Park, and it did not disappoint! It was a cloudy night, so the star gazing was a bust, but the sunset and scenery were incredible. Jim spotted a buffalo and pulled over without telling me. I was looking at the road ahead, and when I turned and looked out my window, I screamed because the buffalo was right next to my window!

He was really calm, and we just “hung out” with him for a while.
We also had a beautiful buck run right out in front of us. Jim had to slam on the brakes and barely missed him. The buck ran off quickly totally scared, so I couldn’t get a picture of him. We also saw a coyote on the side of the road, just standing there, but there was a car behind us, so no pics of him either. 😫
All of the scenery was spectacular!

We spent the earlier portion of the day exploring West Yellowstone, Montana. It’s a cute town with a western flair, but very touristy. We had fun looking at the local items for sale at the shops. Huckleberry is grown locally, and they put it in everything. I tried a huckleberry coffee, and it was delicious.

We are now leaving West Yellowstone and heading for Glacier National Park!
