Find a campground BEFORE you get to Glacier National Park! Day 13 was a tough drive & a tough park search…

, ,

The drive from Yellowstone to Glacier National Park is a tough one! It felt like we were going uphill on a curve the entire time. Add to that strong winds, pulling a camper, and road work, and YUCK! We made it safely though after 7 long hours on the road. 👍

One thing we noticed about Montana is that all of the gas station restrooms are super clean!😆

For every other campground stay, we booked ahead, and then passed campgrounds that we wished we’d stayed at. And we passed ALOT of them. So, we decided to find our Glacier campground when we arrived, but…there weren’t a lot of campgrounds for RVs, or they were full, or they didn’t have 50 amp hook-up. So, we couldn’t find anywhere to stay, said a prayer, and immediately saw a sign for a campground. We pulled in, and they had ONE site left! We took it, and it’s probably my favorite place we’ve stayed so far. There was a ham radio convention there, so they had live music that we could hear from our camper. Everyone has been so nice. We met some full-time campers who gave us lots of great advice. The campground is very peaceful and scenic. It’s named Glacier Meadow RV park, and it was $90 a night for full hook-up before a 10% Good Sam discount.

Next, we will explore Glacier National Park. I hear it’s breathtaking. (I’ve had to use this word a lot lately!🤦‍♀️)
