Zion National Park: Day 18 of National Park Roadtrip- Bighorn sheep, vistas, tunnels, & stars

On day 18, we drove from Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park. It was only a 2.5 hour drive. After we got set up, we explored the park. This made our 4th National Park. Like all the other parks, it’s $35 for a 7 day pass or $80 for an annual pass to all of the parks. We used the Action Tour Guide App to see as much as we could of Zion on our own. There is one scenic drive that is only accessible by a free shuttle from March through November. We plan to do that tomorrow.

There was a tunnel through a mountain that was over a mile long and was the darkest tunnel I’ve ever been in. This park had curvy roads and cliffs, and of course, amazing views. Like the other parks, it was absolutely beautiful!

After Zion, we went grocery shopping to stock up. Once it got dark, we sat outside looking at the stars. It was the most incredible view of the stars I have ever seen.

The RV Park we are in is great. It’s called the Zion White Bison Resort. It’s just 15 minutes from the park. We paid $109 for 2 nights. The park is still being built, but there are very interesting types of places to stay like covered wagons and cliff dwellings. These are luxury lodgings with A/C, hot tubs, and kitchens. They also have a dog park, tennis courts, basketball courts, beautiful views, and even bison to look at. The RV sites have grass (most of the western RV parks are just rock and the dogs hate it!🤦‍♀️), very level concrete, and a propane fire pit.

I’m looking forward to the scenic drive on the shuttle tomorrow, and we’re really enjoying Zion!
