Santa Fe, New Mexico & Ten Thousand Waves Japanese Spa- A Relaxing Day 25 of our Roadtrip

Ten Thousand Waves Spa

We started day 25 by revisiting the old west town of Cerrillos where “Young Guns” was filmed. We wanted to see it again after watching the movie and having it fresh in our minds. The town is so cool!

After Cerrillos, we headed to downtown Santa Fe, which was only 30 minutes away. The city is filled with MANY high end (expensive) art and jewelry shops. The architecture and buildings are so unique and make the city a beautiful place to visit.

There are 3 very old churches in the city, and San Miguel is the oldest church in the US.

After Santa Fe, we went back to the camper to eat. We headed back to Santa Fe in the evening for a hot springs spa night. I have never been a spa person, but this was an incredible experience! We went to Ten Thousand Waves Spa. It was created to mimic the spas in Japan.

For $62 a person, we were given the use of kimonos, towels, sandals, lockers, and all the hot tea we cared to drink. We were allowed to use the sauna, the meditation room with soothing music, the foot soak, and the natural hot springs pool. The atmosphere was so beautiful and calming that it was an amazing experience.

Even the walk to and from the spa was peaceful and pretty.

This was a relaxing and rejuvenating experience that was much needed after all of the driving! We are already over 6,000 miles…😆

We have enjoyed this RV Park- Santa Fe Skies. The sites are separated by trees and varying levels, so it feels much more spacious than other parks.

Tomorrow it’s on to White Sands National Park in Alamogordo, New Mexico!😁
