On day 29, we woke up in our Abilene RV park to the VERY loud sound of military planes flying right over us! It was SO cool! They flew so low over us every few minutes. Such a cool bonus at this $37 park!

We left Abilene and drove towards Waco. We passed through the town of Hico which is rumored to have been the home of Billy the Kid after he allegedly faked his death. There is even a Billy the Kid museum there.

When we got just 7 minutes from our RV park, the road was completely closed. We tried to reroute around with no luck. Rerouting with a travel trailer is not the easiest thing. 🤦♀️ We finally had to call the campground, and they did apologize that they “forgot to tell us” about the road closure. We had to get back on the highway, and that 7 minutes turned into 45 minutes. The park is called Flat Farm RV Park. We paid $139 for 2 nights after our Good Sam discount. It’s on a working farm and is actually very peaceful. Our site is along a small creek and is beautiful.

After setting up and eating a late lunch, we headed into Waco to see what there is there and make our plans for tomorrow. Everything Magnolia was already closed, but we got some pictures and got ideas of what to do tomorrow.

We scoped out some of Joanna’s favorite antique shops and stopped at Goodwill. I got a Magnolia Press Coffee Shop T-shirt, a Waco Texas candle, and Baylor leggings for under $20. 😁
We made reservations for Magnolia Table for an 8:30 breakfast tomorrow. We bought tickets for a 2.5 hour Fixer Upper Bus Tour at 2:00 pm ($44 per adult). Tomorrow is also my daughter-in-law’s 30th birthday. She is also a Joanna Gaines fan! 😁 It should be a great day!
