On Day 44, we drove from Athens, Tennessee to Pigeon Forge. We stayed at the KOA for 2 nights for $163 after I used $25 in rewards points we had accumulated on the trip. The KOA is very nice with a pool, a lazy river, and a hot tub.

They have a lot of activities for kids and various events going on.

They also provided a chiminea and patio furniture. Some sites even had upgraded patios.

They had a lot of cabins available to rent too.

We had great views – especially the sunsets.

Besides hanging out at the pool and hot tub, we explored Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, enjoying the scenery and the shops.

We ate at really cute restaurant called the Sunliner Diner. They played 50s music, had great ambiance, a jukebox, cars to sit in, a gift shop, and even had the menus on a newspaper with articles and facts from the 50s. The food was good- not great- but the atmosphere made the stop worth it.

Jeep Invasion is starting here, so it was fun to drive at night and see all of the Jeeps lit up. There are SO many Jeeps!

During our stay, we had our offer on a house accepted! We are SO excited to be coming “home” and knowing that we will soon have our downsized home we had been looking for. This one will need some TLC, but it’s just what we were looking for!😁
On Day 46, we will be back in Michigan! I can’t wait to see everyone! It’s an 8 hour drive without stops. We will be staying at the Covered Wagon Campground in Ottawa Lake for at least a month while we wait to get into the house.
Traveling has been SO fun, but like Dorothy said, “there’s no place like home”. A popular phrase among RVers is, “Home is where you park it”, but after 45 days away, I believe that “Home is where your family is”. I can’t wait to be home. ❤️
