This list of inexpensive must sees goes in order of our trip starting in South Dakota.
- Boon-docking in the Badlands, Wall, South Dakota— It’s free! It’s breathtaking! Just find a spot and enjoy the view!

2. Custer State Park- Custer, South Dakota $20 for a 7 day pass, 71,000 acre park full of scenic drives and lots of wildlife, including donkeys that walk right up to your car!

3. Cody, Wyoming- Very cool Old West town with places owned and frequented by Buffalo Bill to explore. Also an amazing nightly rodeo that was SO fun! Very reasonable ticket prices!

4. Grand Prismatic Spring -Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming- the whole park is amazing with beautiful scenic drives and hikes —-but Grand Prismatic was my FAVORITE! $35 standard pass, $70 annual pass, $80 all National Parks annual pass- buy it here and use for the other parks on the list.

5. Going to the Sun Road- Glacier National Park, Montana- INCREDIBLE scenic drive with tons of wildlife and places to get out and explore along the way. Reservations often required. National Park Annual pass works here too!

6. Bryce Pioneer Village and Bryce Canyon National Park- stay at the Pioneer Village for a quaint RV Park complete with a hot tub and explore Bryce Canyon National Park. – Pioneer Village has great rates- $55 a night- and great amenities.

Bryce Canyon is breathtaking to drive and walk through and uses the National Park pass as well.

7. Williams, Arizona, Route 66 Stop- no western trip would be complete without visiting a Route 66 town. SO much character and charm! Perfect for shopping and dining!

The KOA there was very nice too- also with a great pool and hot tub for $64 a night.

8. Los Cerillos, New Mexico- the town where time stands still. They filmed Young Guns here, and it still looks the same! It’s free to explore.

And VERY close by is the town of Madrid where scenes in Longmire AND Wild Hogs were filmed and free to see.

9. Ten Thousand Waves Spa, Santa Fe New Mexico- I never thought a spa would make the list (I’m not a spa person), but this was a highlight! Great atmosphere, relaxing, and reasonably priced for the amenities – $60 a person for 2 hours of saunas, natural springs, foot soaks, hot tea, showers, music, and the use of kimonos.

10. White Sands National park, Alamogordo, New Mexico- your pass works here too! More scenic drives and places to explore. Very different scenery than the other parks!

And we stayed at the Alamogordo KOA for just $46 a night!

11. Tye RV Park, Tye, Texas- we stopped on our way to Waco and for just $35 a night, you get a front row seat to an air show! The Dyess Air Force Base flies aircraft right over you, and it’s AMAZING and worth the stop!

I hope you enjoy exploring these treasures as much as we did! 😁
